On the way we have two stops. The first stop for Lunch break at 1-00 PM and the second stop for a Tea break at 4-00 PM. If anyone wishes to go to the Ashram of Matha Amrithanandamayi, they can get down there and can continue the rest of the journey at any direction at a later date as per their convenience with the same ticket.

If anyone wish to come back Quilon / Alleppey, they can change the Boat at Kayamkulam lake after lunch. If anyone is interested to swim in the lake, we would stop the boat and he or she can enjoy swimming.

PLACES COVERED ENROUTE

Ashtamudi lake : It is the second largest lake in Kerala adorned by Chinese fishing nets and traditional fishing operations.

Chavara Canal : Passes through the villages so that one gets clear view of local life of Kerala. Boats reach here at 11-30 AM. So if anyone misses the boat at Kollam , he can catch the boat here at 11-30.

Alumkadavu : The major attraction is that one can see the house boat building yard here.

Amrithapuri : This is the Ashram & Headquarters of Matha Amrita Ananda Mayi Devi. She is one of the famous female Gurus in India.

Ayiramthengu : Here, the boat stops for a lunch break. Kerala meals [food] with fish fry will be served. [If you select the journey from Alleppey to Quilon then the boat will stop here for tea].

Kayamkulam Lake : There is an estuary opening to the sea. This is a place where the sea and lake mingle with each other. Chinese fishing nets can also be seen here.

Thrikkunnappuzha : Blessed with lot of canals and water channels, this place is also known as 'coir village'. [If the trip is from Alleppey to Quilon here is the stop for Lunch].

Kumarakody : This is the death place of Kerala’s renowned Malayalam poet Kumaranasan.

Thottappilly : Here sea and lake is separated by a lock.

Karumadi : There is a 9th Century , black granite statue of Buddha [locally called Karumadikkuttan]. It was built by Buddhist monks.

Kuttanad Paddy fields : The land of lush green paddy fields, Kuttanad is called the rice bowl of Kerala and is one of the few places in the world where farming below the sea level is found. Inland waterways, which are above land level are the interesting features in this region.

Alleppey : It is popularly known as "Venice of the East". Takes you through the attracting backwater villages on the banks of the numerous canals and rivers flowing here and there.
